Is there anyone else out there who has wrongly misspelled “embarrass” for as long as they’ve known the word? Where’d that second “r” come from? What’s it doing there? According to Merriam-Webster the word originated from Latin “in” “baraca” which means (roughly) to ensnare. It then moved to “embaracar” (Portuguese) then “embarazar” (Spanish) and then those stupid Frenchies had to come in with another “r” to make it “embarrasser”. Je n’aime pas les francais.
Totally “embarassed”
