I subscribe to a number of tenets that often conflict causing me no end of headaches and problems. One of these is the idea that “the man makes the clothes” and not the other way around (or maybe I just hate shopping). At times I’m proud to flaunt my carefree ways–I’ll wear the same tattered and frayed shorts to work for weeks at a time without washing. I’ll walk around the building smirking at all the other cookie-cutter schmoes wearing their pressed shirts and dress pants. But occasionally, I’ll want to impress the ladies with a nice ensemble while out on the town. What’s a lazy dude to do? I may have found an answer in shirt.woot.com. The parent site, woot.com, offers one deal a day. Sometimes you’ll find a nice little gadget at a deep discount, sometimes you’ll find crap for a penny. The idea is similar on shirt.woot.com. You get one shirt a day in limited quantities for cheap (usually $10 or $15 and free shipping). Most of the shirts are designed by artists chosen by woot, but every Friday features a shirt that wins the weekly derby, a contest for the best design based on a theme. I’m not always interested in the day’s design, but a few gems have piqued my interest, and maybe they’ll pique yours too. In any case, maybe I can upgrade my wardrobe a bit without having to detach my ever-expanding arse from this ever-so-comfy chair.
