Since leaving the college eutopia of beer, pizza, ultimate, and occasional studying, I’ve tried to become more knowledgeable about “real world”, “adult” things like US politics. Now is a good time to do that because we have a presidential election looming in the near future. I neglected to vote in the last election mainly because I didn’t feel like I knew enough about the candidates to make a well-informed decision. I haven’t done much to change this state of affairs during the current campaign, but a couple days ago the New York Times put together an interactive video of the latest Democratic debate that I’ve found helpful and informative. I’m probably going to end up voting for a democratic candidate, but I don’t know much about any of them aside from what I get in Stephen Colbert’s satirical tirades. Hearing them argue their points in their own words is a good place to start getting better informed (or would it be “more well-informed?”). But until such time when I can formally decide for one candidate or the other, I can always cast shallow, superficial judgment. If you care to join, feast your eyes on some Obama flesh…
