Mardi Gras 2008

I’ve been slacking on my posts recently, but not without a proper excuse. I went down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras weekend with Alexis and her roommate Godwin. Check out the photo album above for all the good times. A quick recap:
Went out to Bourbon St. on Saturday night. We drank some Hand Grenades. It was crazy…a bit too crazy.
Alternated Super Bowl and parade watching on Sunday. Caught lots of beads…and a spear.
Walked around a good bit on Monday. Saw lots of the signature New Orleans sites. Went to Harrah’s late. Lost $100 in no time flat.
Got up somewhat early on Tuesday (Mardi) to watch the beginning of the real Mardi Gras parades. Walked along St. Charles (the parade route). Saw lots of people in colorful costumes. Caught more beads. Went out to eat with our host, Ryan. Took in a bit of reggae. Hit up the local karaoke bar. Jammed up my wrist on the pole (?) while singing.
Wednesday, slept in and then went for brunch at a French bistro. Went next door for some giant daiquiris. Checked out a levy, rode the street car, saw Tulane, back to the airport, goodbye New Orleans.
