So I saw a Delorean article in the New York Times and I just had to read it. This chick Lauren Reilly decided she wanted to treat herself, so she looked up “DeLorean” on eBay and bought one for $13,000 sight unseen.
Impulsive? Maybe.
Awesome? Definitely.
Nevermind the fact that she spent at least another $13,000 fixing it up and God knows how much for parking in Manhattan. Pay no mind to the lack of power steering, shaky-at-best automatic transmission, or anemic 130-or-so horsepower engine. Ms. Reilly now owns and drives a legend. The car’s designer, John Z. DeLorean, was himself a legend.
You too can own a DeLorean DMC-12. eBay has a couple listed at $14,000. Or if you’ve got some serious cash to burn you can buy a brand new one starting at $57,500. Either way you’re guaranteed one new lifelong friend.
