Google, in its never-ending quest to assimilate all information and make it easily searchable and accessible (not to mention profitable), is adding Google Health to its host of applications. Ostensibly, the platform is meant to demystify the ins and outs of medicine schedules, prescriptions, and patient records. Some people might balk at the idea of Google having access to their medical records, but it’s really no different from how they handle other potentially sensitive information. It all gets stored on their servers, yes, but your information will never get accessed individually by a person. Instead information is analyzed in aggregate so that Google can fine tune their advertisement and search capabilities. It would just be bad business to start delving into records for more perfidious purposes.
